| Fersamal Syrup (Duncan Flockhart & Co) | 0.36 ml | |
| Purified Water (Phoenix/Antigen/Braun) | Approx 50 ml | |
| 59Fe Ferric Citrate (Amersham International) | 1.6 MBq | |
| Administered Dose | 0.8 MBq 59Fe, 100 mg ascorbic acid and 5 mg Fe II. | |
| Method | ||
| 1. | Dissolve 1 REDOXON effervescent tablet (1 g ascorbic acid) in 10 ml purified water, and take an aliquot of 2 ml. | |
| 2. | Add 0.36 ml FERSAMEL syrup (140 mg Fe II per 5 ml). | |
| 3. | Add 1.6 MBq 59Fe Ferric Citrate (IFS2P). | |
| 4. | Make up to a final volume of 10 ml with purified water. | |
